Yachting tourism is of very great significance along the shorelines of Mugla.  The villages of Marmaris also share this strong importance.  Whether it is the Blue Cruise yacht charter in Marmaris, gulet charters, or the daily boat tours, and the manufacturing of Turkish Gulets, the yachting industry is the building stones of the regions economy.

Since the 1950′s, the yachting industry has given business opportunities and added life to the regions economy.  The center of all gulet manufacturing is of course Bozburun.  Passed on from father to son, with time, this career, has been successful in becoming reknown to the world marketplace.  The manufacturing of gulets has brought along with it the benefits in making the region well known.  While the construction of gulets requires excellent workmanship, handmade workmanship adds even more quality to its manufacturing.

The significance of the yachting industry isn’t only represented with the manufacturing of gulets but also the famous Blue Voyage.  Unforgettable memories are lived while daily or weekly tours are taken along the shorelines of the Aegean Sea.  Within the route of 1124 kilometers of the Mugla province shorelines, during these tours, from one peerless bay after another, inclusive of various water sports, small treks, let yourself go in this timeless array of natural beauty… and relax with the silence of the sea as you try many different kinds of seafood cuisines.

Another contribution to the representation of the region and its economy is the Marmaris Yacht Charter Festival, that has been held for the past 21 years.

This festival is held inside the Marmaris Yacht Marina in the month of May.  The World Cup Yacht Races are also held in the Marmaris Yacht Marina each year in November.

With all of these yachtsman visiting the villages of Marmaris, as they dock in yacht resting places and small ports, as well interested in these Yacht Festivals, simply adds more colour to our region.
