Marmaris Summer Holidays 2011
Summer in Marmaris Turkey… has started!
Marmaris summer time holiday season has truly begun with temperatures up to 40 celcius. The schools are out and holidaymakers from across the globe and different parts of Turkey have placed their markers in Marmaris. The central beaches are packed. Cold drink sales are up and the sea has now become one of the most preferred swimming pools to plunge into
It’s hot! But what else to expect in July. For those who have been waiting all year long to escape from wet and cold weather are now at peace by the sea, absorbing some good rays (with sunscreen of course
) … and having fun!
Marmaris may be seeing some high temperatures this month; however there are many things one can do to cool off and not really feel it all that much. Going on daily boat trips, doing some water sports such as jet skiing or scuba diving and snorkeling, and possibly a trip to the water park, are fantastic ways to beat the hot weather. Drinking lots of cool fluids and wearing a hat might be a good idea as well.
Marmaris is a very wide range holiday hot spot. You don’t necessarily have to restrict yourself to the city itself. A discovery trip to the villages nearby is a wonderful alternative. It’s a more quieter environment with next to no traffic, crowds and noise.
There are many pristine bays that are not as occupied as the beaches in Marmaris and Icmeler, and on your way out there, you can certainly enjoy breathtaking scenery the whole way through. These villages can be reached by minibus, water taxis or by car. If you rent a car, then you have the freedom to stop whenever and wherever you wish, and explore at your own leisure. The minibuses run regularly on the hour during the summer months. The water taxis run frequently to Icmeler and Turunc as well. Some of the most preferred villages are Selimiye, Orhaniye, Turgut, Sogut, and Hisaronu. There is also the town of Bozburun.
You can also take a trip out to the Greek Island of Rhodes from Marmaris, and explore two countries in one day!
Another splendid trip for cooling off during the hot Marmaris weather is the well known waterfalls in Turgut village. The Turgut Waterfalls draws thousands of visitors each year. Blanketed with its incredible nature, the Turgut waterfalls leaves visitors with unforgettable memories. The water, even during the very hot summer months is ice cold! It’s a very effective way to cool off!
Another wonderful place to visit during the hot weather is the Orhaniye Kizkumu beach. Although the water along the famous bed of sand is only knee high, a casual dip will do wonders. While there, participating in some water sports may be a refreshing addition to your visit at Kizkumu Orhaniye.
When on holidays in Marmaris or any other place in the world for that matter, there are do’s and there are dont’s in order to have a pleasant vacation. Have a safe and pleasurable holiday in Marmaris.
